We are excited to welcome Dr. John Weitlich, a Board-Certified orthopedic surgeon, to Community Hospital – Fairfax. Dr. Weitlich brings his expertise in general orthopedics and orthopedic trauma, specializing in the management of fractures and providing both operative and non-operative care for conditions such as thumb arthritis, wrist arthritis, knee arthritis, and pediatric fractures.
Growing up in a small rural community himself, Dr. Weitlich has a deep understanding of the unique healthcare needs of rural residents. His personal connection to rural life fuels his dedication to delivering high-quality orthopedic care to our community.
Dr. Weitlich’s medical journey began with an undergraduate degree in biology from Benedictine College in Atchison, Kansas, where he also excelled in football and track. He earned his medical degree from the University of Kansas School of Medicine and completed his orthopedic residency at the University of Missouri. His passion for orthopedic surgery was ignited while working as a certified nursing assistant during college, inspired by shadowing Dr. Brett Miller.
In addition to his professional expertise, Dr. Weitlich is excited to introduce a total joint replacement program, beginning with total knee replacements, at Community Hospital Fairfax. This program will enhance our orthopedic services and provide advanced care options for our patients.
Outside of his professional life, Dr. Weitlich enjoys spending time outdoors, playing golf, and playing the guitar. He cherishes moments with his family, especially his wife and two daughters, and looks forward to contributing to the well-being of our rural community.
